Product Overview
Our catalytic activated carbon(WTC) is produced from premium coconut shell through carbonization and high-temperature steam activation, then finished with a surface chemistry that goes beyond physical adsorption. With iodine above 1000 mg/g and surface area over 1000 m²/g it captures dissolved organics, while the catalytic surface actively supports advanced oxidation and wet peroxide processes that break down refractory compounds biological treatment cannot touch.
An alkaline pH of 8–11, hardness above 95% and low ash keep it stable in continuous wastewater and process water service. We manufacture this grade in-house and supply it with batch certificates of analysis, so treatment plants get consistent catalytic performance from lot to lot.
How Catalytic Carbon Works in a Wastewater Treatment Train
Standard activated carbon removes organics from wastewater purely by physical adsorption — contaminants migrate into the pore network and stay there until the bed is exhausted. Catalytic carbon adds a second mechanism: its surface chemistry accelerates oxidation reactions, so when it is paired with an oxidant such as hydrogen peroxide or ozone, refractory compounds are broken down into smaller, biodegradable fragments instead of simply being stored.
In practice, this grade sits after biological treatment or inside an advanced oxidation loop. Adsorption handles the bulk organic load, while the catalytic sites keep working as long as oxidant is present — extending bed life beyond what adsorption alone would deliver and reaching COD components that biological processes cannot degrade.

Key Application Areas
- Wastewater Composite Treatment — Integrates into combined physical-chemical-biological systems for industrial effluent, supporting simultaneous adsorption and catalytic degradation of refractory organics.
- Wastewater Catalytic Processes — Serves as a catalytic medium in advanced oxidation and catalytic wet peroxide oxidation systems for persistent organic removal.
- Water Treatment Catalyst Support — Provides a high-purity, high-surface-area substrate for catalytic materials in environmental and chemical processing applications.
- Industrial Process Water — Purifies manufacturing process streams by adsorbing organics and supporting catalytic reactions that break down recalcitrant contaminants.
Key Advantages
- Catalytic Surface Functionality: Enhanced catalytic properties support advanced oxidation processes and catalytic reactions beyond simple physical adsorption, improving removal of refractory organics.
- Coconut Shell Hardness & Purity: >95% hardness and <5% ash ensure minimal attrition and low leachable content, maintaining process stability in continuous wastewater service.
- High Adsorption Foundation: Iodine >1000 mg/g and surface area >1000 m²/g provide robust physical adsorption capacity to complement catalytic performance.
- Alkaline pH for Process Compatibility: pH 8–11 supports alkaline process streams and certain precipitation-catalysis reactions without requiring chemical adjustment.

Which Wastewater Grade Fits Your Plant?
We build four wastewater grades because every plant sits at a different duty point. Our base coal grade (WT) covers general municipal and industrial duty with reliable COD removal. Our standard grade (WT-S) is tuned for cost-effective tertiary polishing. Our high-iodine grade (WT-P) adds capacity headroom for high-load industrial streams. And this catalytic grade is the choice when treatment needs to go beyond adsorption — advanced oxidation loops, refractory organics and process water polishing. Tell us your influent data and we will point you to the right one.
Technical Support & Supply
We manufacture this catalytic grade in-house under ISO 9001 quality management, with batch certificates of analysis covering iodine, surface area, hardness, ash and pH. Custom particle size distributions are available on request. Share your wastewater composition, treatment targets and process configuration — our technical team will confirm whether catalytic functionality fits your train, estimate service life and provide samples for pilot testing.
