Product Overview
Our wastewater treatment activated carbon(WT) is manufactured from select bituminous coal through carbonization and high-temperature steam activation, delivering iodine adsorption above 800 mg/g for dependable COD and organic removal. It is the workhorse grade for municipal plants and industrial facilities that need consistent effluent quality in fixed-bed pressure or gravity filters — low pressure drop, uniform flow distribution, and crush strength above 90% that holds up through years of backwashing. Two mesh options let you trade pressure drop against contact efficiency for your vessel design.
We produce this grade in-house under ISO 9001 and ship every batch with a certificate of analysis, so large continuous operations get predictable performance at an economical price.
How Fixed-Bed Adsorption Fits Municipal & Industrial Treatment Trains
Granular activated carbon works as a physical adsorption step: as wastewater flows through the bed, dissolved organics migrate into the carbon's pore network and are held on its surface. Placed after primary or biological treatment, a fixed bed removes residual COD, color and trace organics before discharge or reuse.
Fixed beds are favored in continuous plants because they are simple to operate — no dosing, no mixing, just flow. What they demand from the carbon is mechanical: uniform granules for even flow, low pressure drop to protect pumps, and strength to survive years of backwashing. That is exactly the design brief behind this grade.

Key Application Areas
- Municipal Sewage Treatment — Provides primary and secondary effluent polishing in municipal plants, adsorbing residual organics and improving effluent quality before discharge or reuse.
- Industrial Wastewater Processing — Treats effluent from manufacturing, chemical, and food processing facilities where variable organic loads require consistent adsorption performance.
- Post-Biological Tertiary Treatment — Integrates after activated sludge or biological reactors to remove non-biodegradable organics and trace contaminants that biological processes cannot fully degrade.
- Reclaimed Water Production — Prepares treated wastewater for non-potable reuse applications by removing residual COD and organic precursors.
- Wastewater Pre-Treatment — Protects downstream biological units from organic shock loads and treats high-strength influent before primary clarification.
Key Advantages
- Proven Municipal Performance: Iodine >800 mg/g and surface area >800 m²/g deliver reliable COD and organic removal for standard-duty wastewater treatment.
- Rugged Fixed-Bed Design: >90% crush strength and low floating rate maintain stable bed geometry through repeated backwashing and hydraulic surges.
- Cost-Effective Coal Base: Bituminous coal feedstock ensures economical pricing for large-scale continuous wastewater operations without sacrificing adsorption consistency.
- Dual Mesh Flexibility: WT 830 (1.4–1.7 mm) suits high-flow systems with lower pressure drop; WT 1240 (1.2–1.4 mm) enhances contact efficiency for tighter effluent requirements.

Which Wastewater Grade Fits Your Plant?
We build four wastewater grades because every plant sits at a different duty point. This base grade is our most versatile wastewater carbon — reliable COD removal at an economical price for standard municipal and industrial duty. Where loads are moderate and budget leads the decision, our standard grade (WT-S) sharpens the economics of tertiary polishing. High-load industrial streams benefit from our high-iodine grade (WT-P). And when adsorption alone is not enough — refractory organics, advanced oxidation loops — our catalytic grade (WTC) adds reactive surface chemistry.
Technical Support & Supply
We manufacture this grade in-house under ISO 9001 quality management, with batch certificates of analysis covering iodine, hardness, ash and moisture. Custom particle size distributions are available on request. Send us your plant flow rate, influent quality and discharge standard — our team will recommend between the two mesh options, estimate bed life and provide samples for pilot testing.
