From October 6 to 8, Jiangsu Purestar EP Technology exhibited at FISP 2026 (Feira Internacional de Segurança e Proteção) at São Paulo Expo in São Paulo, Brazil.
At Booth G113A, we presented selected coconut-shell-based activated carbon grades for respiratory-protection filter applications. We also spoke with filter manufacturers and industry professionals about carbon selection, particle size, quality consistency, and supply requirements.

What Activated Carbon Grades Did Purestar Showcase?
Visitors could inspect samples of activated carbon intended for several gas-filter applications.
| Grade / Application | Intended Application | Sample Particle Size |
|---|---|---|
| Type A | Organic vapors | 14–25 mesh / approximately 0.9 mm |
| Type AE (A + E combination) | Organic vapors and acid gases | 12–20 mesh |
| ABEK applications | Combined gas-filter applications covering A, B, E, and K categories | Grade-dependent |
| Type K | Ammonia and organic ammonia derivatives | 10–20 mesh |
| CBRN application grade | For evaluation in CBRN protective-filter systems | 4–8 mesh |

The samples showcased were coconut-shell-based activated carbon grades. Particle size and grade selection should be matched to the intended filter design and its performance requirements.
These are activated-carbon grades intended for incorporation into filter systems, not complete respirators. Final filter performance and applicable certification depend on testing and approval of the finished configuration.

What Technical Topics Did Visitors Ask About?
Three practical themes stood out during conversations at the show.
1. Impregnation Consistency
For impregnated activated carbon, consistency from batch to batch is an important consideration. Discussions focused on the uniformity of metal-salt impregnation and the quality controls used to support consistent production.
2. Dust Generation and Attrition
Particle hardness and integrity matter during handling, transportation, and filter filling. Visitors discussed dust generation, attrition resistance, and how particle properties can affect production-line handling.
3. Lead Times and Supply Planning
For filter manufacturers in Brazil and the wider South American market, supply planning is another practical consideration. Discussions included shipping schedules, expected lead times, and planning for ongoing production requirements.
These topics reflect the importance of evaluating activated carbon not only by its raw material, but also by its application requirements, physical properties, and suitability for the intended filter design.
What's Next After FISP 2026?
Following the show, we are continuing conversations with contacts we met at FISP. For manufacturers who could not attend, our team remains available to discuss activated carbon grades for respiratory-protection applications.
Whether you are developing a new filter design or reviewing an existing carbon grade, we can discuss your requirements and provide relevant product information to support your evaluation.
Need Samples or Technical Information?
Contact our team to discuss your target gas or vapor, preferred particle size, filter design, and application requirements. You can also request available samples and technical datasheets for further evaluation.
