Product Overview
When you're entering an environment where the exact threat is unknown, you need protection that covers the widest possible range of hazards. ABEK is our comprehensive multi-gas protection carbon, engineered for respirator cartridges and escape devices used by firefighters, chemical workers, military personnel, and emergency responders.
The ABEK designation follows the European EN 14387 standard classification:
- A = Organic vapors (boiling point >65°C)
- B = Inorganic gases (chlorine, hydrogen sulfide, etc.)
- E = Acid gases (sulfur dioxide, hydrogen chloride)
- K = Ammonia and organic ammonia derivatives
Unlike single-threat carbons, ABEK uses a sophisticated multi-layer impregnation process that loads different reactive chemicals onto specific carbon fractions, creating a composite media that addresses each threat class without cross-interference.
