Product Overview
Nuclear safety demands materials that perform flawlessly under the most critical conditions. PSD-NPC is our nuclear-grade coconut shell carbon, impregnated with specialized catalyst carriers and subjected to deep processing that creates an extraordinarily effective barrier against radioactive contaminants.
The carbon substrate is manufactured from premium coconut shell charcoal, selected for its high purity and structural integrity. Through advanced impregnation technology, the carbon surface is modified to enhance chemisorption of radioactive iodine species—particularly methyl iodide (CH3I) and elemental iodine (I2)—which are among the most radiologically significant fission products released during nuclear incidents.

Nuclear Applications
- Nuclear power plant ventilation systems — containment and control building air filtration
- Nuclear fuel cycle facilities — process off-gas treatment
- Radioactive waste management — vapor-phase iodine capture
- Emergency response systems — mobile filtration units for accident scenarios
- Research reactors and isotope production facilities
Radiological Performance
Methyl Iodide Adsorption (Low Temperature): Removal rate >99%
Elemental Iodine Adsorption: Removal rate >99.9%
Methyl Iodide Adsorption (High Temperature): Removal rate >98%
These removal rates are achieved under standardized test conditions (EJ/T20056-2014) and represent the carbon's ability to protect against the most penetrating forms of radioactive iodine.
